CHALLENGES

Stability

Embedded systems today are deployed in numerous safety critical applications. Any unpredictable behavior can have an impact that could endanger life. Ensuring stability of a system requires development activities to account for edge cases and the ability to handle uncertainty.

Safety

Safety is of the utmost vital challenge of embedded systems as they are used in many critical and life-saving functionalities in any type of critical environment. It is characterized by limitations and strict requirements in terms of testing, quality, and engineering expertise.

Connectivity

This is one of the vital challenges that embedded developers face as the need for connecting devices and enabling the ability to speak to one another grows. This has led to an increase in the adoption of wireless connectivity technologies like WiFi, LoRa, 5G, Bluetooth, NFC etc. Each one has its own merits and demerits along with different software stacks that developers need to understand to make sure the hardware works.

Security

It is a challenge for developers to secure their devices from security threats.  As IoT devices are gaining popularity globally, data from these devices are captured on various levels to enable multiple services utilized by the end user. There is a dire need to establish security measures to protect this data. The development of these devices should parametrise what information needs to be protected and how they should be safeguarded from unauthorized access.

Reusability

Embedded development comprises multiple layers of dependencies both in terms of hardware and software. The challenge here is that most development activities happen in a linear manner thereby combining multiple dependencies in a homogenous layer of application which results in recreating components every time a new application is developed. The solution is to keep different components of software and hardware functionalities as independent as possible to unlock the benefits of modularity, reducing development effort and accelerating time to market.

We can work with you in different ways

11

If you want a deeply integrated extension of your team, we will work to exhaustively capture your business positioning and target market pain points along with your product offering and development requirements to meet your business needs.
If you just want a limited-scope engineering project executed either due to lack of bandwidth or specific expertise, we are more than happy to simply understand your exact requirements, lay out a project plan and deploy the right team.
In either scenario, we work closely with your engineering team to define constraints, requirements and measurable success metrics.

Solution
Architecting

We develop a concept level mapping of inputs, dependencies, critical constraints and a functional decomposition of required outputs. We then build a set of independent conceptual solutions followed by an analysis to pick the right way to move forward.

Prototyping & R&D

We tap into our access to state-of-the-art prototyping facilities across domains to build fast and fail fast so you can learn quickly about what works and what doesn’t. We understand that prototypes serve multiple functions: concept validation, market validation, and approval for additional development; and we work with these overarching goals in mind.

Design & Specification

We engineer and refine your prototypes or concepts for application-specific constraints or compliance requirements, applying principles of design-for-manufacturability and design-for-testing all along the way. We also perform all the necessary simulations both in the mechanical and electronics domains to ensure that subsystems and components will perform as expected before you move towards production.

Development

We dive deep into cross-domain engineering, from mechanical design and industrial design to hardware, embedded and software engineering layers. We derive from our highly diverse and collaborative skill-set to go through a thorough systems integration phase where we ensure that your solution performs seamlessly across layers.

Testing & Validation

We prepare exhaustive DFMEA and testing documentation which guides our testing and validation process, allowing us to capture the most critical insights of your product development and the most critical stages. We work to gain a thorough understanding of your applications & use-cases so we can put your project through creative and stringent testing that evaluates the performance of the systems and sub-systems under all possible application conditions.

Production Support

Once deployed, we tap into our commitment and pride in our work to provide the standard of post-development support, from continuous improvement and ongoing QA to contract manufacturing network support. One of our core values is that an engagement isn’t over till true value is delivered to the client.

Our

USP

Here’s how we address your concerns
We might miss insights from the engineering process
Throughout our development process, we work exhaustively to capture any insights we glean from our iterative design efforts: What worked? What didn’t work? Why does one solution work better than another? We communicate these with your team in real-time so it feels as though the product development efforts are happening in the next room
We could lose control over the quality and pace of work
Our project management team employs industry-leading agile-for-hardware methodologies to keep the team on track and our results-oriented deliverables mean that work isn’t accepted as complete until the quality is up to the exacting standards set forth in our agreement.
We might sacrifice the flexibility that is required to accommodate our rapidly evolving needs
We love to think on our feet and solve actual problems! If a project/sprint we are working on is rendered unusable due to changing conditions on your end, we are more than happy to alter course and work to get us back on track.
We are worried about sharing our core IP
We take pride in our faith in the power of engineering collaboration and the trust that comes with it. Our agreements and terms of engagement are stringently drafted to always protect the client’s interests and IP.
